杭州师范大学医学院前身是创办于1979年的浙江医科大学杭州分校(护理教育可追溯至1917年浙江广济医院护士培训学校,已有近百年历史)。1994年学校更名为杭州医学高等专科学校,2001年并入杭州师范学院成立医学院。2004年医学院分为临床医学院、护理学院、医药卫生管理学院(2011年11月更名为健康管理学院)、基础医学部等四个教学单位。2013年3月上述“三院一部”合并成立新的医学院。   医学院坐落在杭州下沙高教园区内,有教学实验用房35041平方,包括基础医学、临床医学、护理学、健康管理、预防医学、口腔医学、卫生事业管理和药学8个系,拥有8个本科专业和方向。有1家综合性三甲附属医院(杭州市第二人民医院),7家非直属附属医院。拥有智能健康研究院和衰老研究所2个校级重点研究机构。现有全日制在校学生2980余人,教职工264余人,其中专任教师223人,教授47人,副教授78人。学院现有共享院士1人,国家级新世纪百千万人才工程2人,国家杰出青年基金获得者1人,教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划入选者2 人,享受国务院颁发的政府特殊津贴专家3人;拥有国家级学术分会主任委员1人,教育部高等学校教学指导委员会委员2人,国家重大科学院研究计划首席科学家1人,浙江省“新世纪151人才工程”13人。   医学院有服务国家特殊需求博士人才培养项目“治未病与健康管理”,与浙江大学联合培养博士学位授权学科——基础医学,有公共管理和护理学2个硕士学位授权一级学科。拥有国家中医药管理局重点学科1个,浙江省重点学科2个,浙江省实验教学示范中心建设点2个,浙江省精品课程6门。   近十年来,医学院承担各类科研项目300余项,包括国家重大科学研究计划、“十一五”和“十二五” 国家科技支撑重点项目、国家自然科学基金重点项目等重大(重点)项目;科研平台建设获得重要突破,拥有教育部工程中心1个,浙江省科技创新重点团队1个。   医学院与美国、英国、澳大利亚、香港、台湾等境内外的多所院校建立了友好合作与交流关系,开办留学生医学本科教育项目,现有国际留学生100余人。
